Lugo

Located in the center of the Terras do Miño Biosphere Reserve, the thousand-year-old city of Lucus Augusti offers visitors a great diversity of both natural and cultural resources. With two World Heritage Sites, Roman Wall and Lugo Cathedral, the city is one of the most important stops on the Primitive Way to Santiago.

In Lugo we can visit Roman remains such as the wall, bridge, baths or mosaics; the complete network of unique museums such as the Domus de Mitreo (ancient temple dedicated to the oriental god Mithras), the House of Mosaics or the Provincial Museum; or the Cathedral, one of the most beautiful and charming in Galicia.

After the walk, we can delight ourselves with the Lugo gastronomy in the “wine area”, with which we will accompany the famous tapas of Lugo: Plaza do Campo, Rua Nova, Rua da Cruz… This area allows us to wander through the squares and nooks from the city.

You will not be able to leave Lugo without taking a walk along the river Miño. The Paseo del Miño runs about 18 km in the city, passing through several parks, next to the Lugo spa where we can see the hot springs, the Roman bridge or the Ponte neighborhood. The entire walk along the “Padre Gallego river” where we can see the natural wealth of trees and animals.
